ROLE: 

The Director of Communications will be responsible for successfully positioning clients in a clear and ownable leadership position, driving brand attribution, momentum and positive market sentiment across the PR media landscape.  Additionally, the role requires managing internal intra-company communications between key stakeholders.


The Director of Communications will be responsible for working directly with an external PR agency and internal teams to gather information, manage key stakeholders in the communications process and help to build the public brand narrative. Specifically, we are looking for a seasoned PR professional with a passion for decentralized finance, a deep understanding of the changing media and marketing environment, a collaborative attitude and the ability to think critically, drive results and communicate with clarity.


The role will report into the PIXL8 leadership team. It will require working cross-functionally with both domestic and international teams across growth, marketing, operations, product and finance.   


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, identify appropriate analytical and qualitative approaches, prioritize and execute analyses, synthesize the "so-what" and business recommendations

  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop compelling corporate narratives, present the company across media channels, highlight takeaways, lead meetings with senior business partners and manage key staff members within the media interview process

  • Capable of leading a team of communications experts focused on creating exciting storytelling opportunities across a mix of communications channels

  • An expert in helping to direct communications and outcomes for high growth companies moving through meaningful and newsworthy capital funding rounds

  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback

  • Support and add value to the company by listening, effectively communicating and helping colleagues to do what they do best

  • 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in a high-growth technology and/or financial environment

  • A keen interest in Bitcoin 

  • Experience collaborating with C-level leaders and other senior executives on challenging corporate issues, crisis management and a proven track record of resolving them successfully

  • Strong proven relationships with key mainstream business, finance and technology editors, influencers, allies and industry bodies in the US and internationally

  • An innovative approach to corporate communications, exploring the breadth of today's media environment.

  • Excellent skills using cloud based modern business tools eg Google Suite, CRM’s, Microsoft Suite and other communication tools.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead external and internal communications for the brand (in collaboration with external PR agency and internal content team); including writing internal memos, Press releases, messages, talking points, Q&As, press releases, social posts and visual content.

  • Develop and manage the communications strategy for the brand and senior leadership in collaboration with an external PR agency

  • Build and maintain relationships with key editors and influencers in top tier media, especially in business and technology publications.

  • Speech writing on behalf of senior leadership and management of conference and speaking engagements for senior leaders across the business

  • Take a data-driven approach to communications and measure its impact.

  • Provide counsel and strategic guidance to protect and enhance the Brand and company reputation.

  • Manage global coordination with regional communications teams—keeping colleagues informed of developments and announcements and supporting efforts to amplify news across multiple regions.

  • Assist with budget tracking, opening scope of work requests, managing and reconciling purchase orders and monthly invoice management

  • Provide support for marketing industry events, thought leadership opportunities, media interviews, social media presence and internal/external appearances.

  • Remain up-to-date with emerging platforms, trends and best practices across brand marketing, digital marketing and social media, and regularly share your perspective.

  • Work with the communications and marketing teams to promote, enhance, and protect the brand in the marketplace

  • Represent the brand at relevant industry events
